Michael E. Kruczek, M.D. – Anesthesiologist
Dr. Kruczek is a native San Antonian who has been in practice in the San Antonio area since July of 1979. He earned his bachelor’s degree at the University of Texas at Austin in 1974, where he graduated cum laude majoring in biological sciences. He was an active research scientist at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio where he authored/co-authored seven published research articles on lipid biochemistry.
He then went on to medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston and earned his medical degree. During this time he developed and published a report on a new technique for rapidly determining blood levels of the local anesthetic lidocaine and its metabolites. His interest in medicine, chemistry, biochemistry, and pharmacology gravitated him towards the specialty of anesthesiology.
Dr. Kruczek is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and the American Academy of Pain Management. He served as chairman of the department of Anesthesiology at Metropolitan Methodist Hospital in 1986 and 1991 and chairman of the department of Anesthesiology at Baptist Memorial Hospital System in 1993.
He is an active member of the Bexar County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association, American Society of Anesthesiologists, San Antonio Society of Anesthesiologist, American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, and the American Academy of Pain Management.

Dr. Kruczek has been working with Dr. Elizabeth Harris since the mid 1990’s. They have developed a close knit, team approach which benefits the safety and comfort of the patient. He is conversant in all areas of anesthetic management, including but not limited to general inhalational anesthesia, total intravenous technique, regional and local neuraxil anesthetic techniques and conscious sedation.
Dr. Kruczek is married to wife, Roxanne. They have a daughter, Michelle, and are proud grandparents to a baby girl, Suren Elizabeth. When he is not in the operating room or pain management suite he enjoys sailing, hiking, reading, running and his awesome Harley Davidson motorcycle.
Dr. Kruczek has been working with Dr. Harris for many years and considers it a privilege and an honor to be working with such a compassionate, talented and highly skilled plastic surgeon.
